Level Crossing.
A woman has died after her car was one of two vehicles struck by a train on a level crossing.
The 50-year-old victim was airlifted to hospital following the collision just outside the village of Moreton on Lugg, Hereford, but died from her injuries.
Her husband was also injured, as were another wman and her daughter in a second car.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Two vehicles were struck by a train on the crossing at 10.34am on Saturday.
"The occupants of the first vehicle, a husband and wife who live locally, were taken to hospital.
"The female, aged 50, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital where she has sadly died.
"Her husband was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was treated for minor injuries."
The woman in the second car and her 12-year-old daughter were treated in hospital for minor injuries and shock but have since been discharged.
The driver of the train, the 8.30am Arriva passenger service from Manchester Piccadilly to Milford Haven, was checked by paramedics at the scene, as were a number of passengers who were treated for shock.

hmmmmm, i would think trains are big visible objects especially with the fact they drive with headlights on all the time and a big yellow front

Re: Level Crossing.
Thoughts are with the Family who lost someone special.
However you must also feel for the driver, his life will never be the same again as the other families will, in fact he may never be able to go on a train again let alone drive one.
